Twilight Drama

I don't know how many of you had heard, but Stephenie Meyer is not going to write/finish "Midnight Sun" which was the book from Edwards point of view. Apparently someone got hold of a rough draft and posted it illegally on the internet and she doesn't want to finish it now.

Click HERE to read from Stephenie's blog.

I am so sad, but I totally understand why she doesn't want to write it, I would be upset too. What do you think?

I read those 12 pages *cringes* and after slogging through the last book I'm glad she's moving on. How much more Edward / Bella lovey dovey mush can a girl take... Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. I really enjoyed her stand along adult novel "The Host" so hopefully she'll produce other memorable books in the future. I am still looking forward to the Twilight movie as I still feel that the first 3 books were wonderful. Not so much the fourth.

I think it's pretty petulant, actually.

I'm not a huge fan of books told from new perspectives (like this would be Twilight from Edward's perspective) but I like the characters and I would have read it.

Also, it's a rough draft and odds are the finished product would be significantly different.

I mean, how old is she now? You'd think it wouldn't be like, "Well, then, I won't write it because I'm too sad!"

(Didn't she also have part of it posted on her own website before this?)

Erin I agree with you, I was not a huge fan of book #4 and didn't know how I felt about reading from Edwards point of view. I guess I won't now!

Kelly, good point I didn't think it was childish, but I do now!!!

I think it sucks someone did that to her...you can tell how upset she is! But in the same sense...time to move on!!

I was kind of upset at first, but the more I think about it the more I am ok with it. I don't want the series to be dragged on TOO long, let's just leave it be and love what we do have. I do think that she is acting a little childish by stomping her foot and basically saying "NO!" -- and keeping it all to herself. Whatever. I'll take more books like "The Host", too.
